Press Conference

A press conference at the American University in Cairo preceded the opening of the exhibition. At the press conference Dr. Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities and Sir Derek Plumbly, British Ambassador to Egypt were joined by Mr. Philip Croom, Director of the Rare Books and Special Collections Library and Ms. Noha Abou Khatwa, Director of the Islamic Art Network. They have described the importance of the work of Sir Archibald Creswell who devoted most of his life to documenting Cairo’s Islamic architectural heritage.
